Notifications Off, Productivity On

Notifications Off, Productivity On

Recently, I turned off ALL the notifications on my phone, except for the phone call app itself. Here's what happened...

My productivity went through the roof.

So did my focus.

And my bouts with brain fog lifted.

Now, when I tell people I turned all my notifications off, most people think that I turned off notifications for my social media apps.

But those apps I actually removed from my phone entirely.

The app that I turned off notifications for that I never would have thought to, had the most effect on my peace of mind.

And that's the text messages app.

That was most difficult one for me to part with - those text message notifications.

Believe it or not, I could (and still can just writing about this) FEEL a physical reaction to turning those notifications off.

That's how you know you're addicted.

But you know what?

When someone needed something timely from me - they'd call.

And I still get all my text messages.

They just wait in their inbox until I open the app - the same way mail waits in the mailbox until you open it.

With no red button alert.
No chimes.
No buzzes or whistles.
Or interruptions.

Just quiet. And peace. And focus.
