2020: The Year the Sun Rose on Buffalo

2020: The Year the Sun Rose on Buffalo

The article “the Western New Yorker who invented the gatorade celebration” is worth the read and is a reminder of some inspiring thoughts as we (Buffalo) head into 2020...

1. A Buffalonian (Jim Burt) created the Gatorade celebration - a cultural phenomenon - and a fun one.

2. There are culturally impactful people that come from Buffalo. And they’re everywhere.

Last night, I watched Rob Gronkowski host a portion of Fox’s New Year’s Eve Celebration.

Earlier in the day, I listened to Seth Godin give a speech to the United Nations on how to solve the world’s problems.

This election year, we’ll watch Wolf Blitzer head election coverage for CNN as their lead political anchor.

And that’s just a few.

We are many.

There are Buffalonians front and center around the world, leading and making an impact.

And I believe we’re starting to see a shift in the cultural mindset of how others see Buffalo, and, more importantly, how we see ourselves.

People used to complain about the snow.

Now they welcome it over the seemingly growing amount of wildfires, earthquakes, and hurricanes.

I hope you have the Happiest of New Years.

2020 is going to be a great one for Buffalo.

For all of us.

Go Bills.
