Buffalo, NY Ranked #4!
According to Yelp's 2019 Economic Average Report, Buffalo ranked #4 for Economic GROWTH among the top 50 major metros in the U.S. - Did you see this?...
The Yelp Economic Average tracks the health of consumer demand in local economies using Yelp data.
Apparently, 2019 proved to be a slumping year for many major American cities, such as San Francisco, San Jose, Portland (OR), Dallas, and Chicago.
And 2020 doesn't look to be starting out too kind for these major cities either...
"In the first quarter of 2020 we expect YEA to be dragged down by the retail and restaurant sectors, as well as weakness in many big state and metro economies: California, Texas, Florida, New York City, Chicago, and Seattle."
However, a handful of cities gained ground in 2019, and appear to be on the rise, according to the index.
Milwaukee, Honolulu, Portland (ME), Buffalo, and Pittsburgh, all performed well in 2019, and here are a few reasons why:
"Services businesses fueled gains in the metros, with some help from localized positive trends in food and nightlife businesses..."
So, there you have it.
Buffalo came in at #4 on the list of metros with the Highest Economic Growth.
And that's pretty great.
