Population Rising

This Thanksgiving, I was fortunate to play in an early morning hockey game with, guess who…

My brother, Richard Harris!

But also, Jason Pominville.

Fun Fact: Jason Pominville (a Quebec native) is the first player in NHL history to clinch a playoff series, in overtime, with a shorthanded goal - "Now Do You Believe?!"

And he did that as a rookie.

Then he went on to play over 1,000 NHL games.

He also inspired one of the most fun campaigns in Buffalo Sabres history - the 'Population of Pominville.'

And he's one heck of a nice guy, who still calls Buffalo home.

So much of the wonderfulness of our community has little to do with our buildings or organizations.

And more to do with the people here - Buffalonians.

While we were on the ice. A small crowd gathered to watch our game.

They had noticed #29 out there.

And when our game was over, Jason was kind enough to stop and take the time to talk with each and every one of the waiting.

He didn't rush through it. And he took pictures with anyone who asked.

You can always come home to Buffalo.

Or make Buffalo your home.

And anyone can be a Buffalonian.
